Beautiful dark, bright ruby, complex nose of pennyroyal, toasted oak, incense, dark fruits, musk rose and mulberries. Beguiling. Changing in glass to infinity. Palate is seductively smooth and round black fruited and full, reaching every point imaginable in the mouth full on. Delicious, explosive and pure joy on the palate. This wine goes on and on, too hard to describe really. A rare California gem, 46 years this vintage. One of the last great plantings. Drinks well now but could probably age as well, why wait?
