Vineyard Notes:
This is our next to last vintage production of this classic California “Grand Cru” Pinot Noir. The age of the vineyard is estimated at about 39+ years old. 76% Clone 5 Pommard, 24%+ Clone 37 (Mount Eden, Romanee Conte, etc. etc.)

Tasting Notes:
Picked somewhat later than I would have liked. Atypical of previous years. Still quite stunning on the riper side. Dark ruby in color. A Burgundian “foxy” nose to it. With black tea nuances, coriander spice and herbal qualities. Toasty oak and pennyroyal. The palate is on the red fruited side however with pomegranate, stone fruit and bramble. Mineral and earth with just the right amount of acidity. A sense of the Deep End of the Anderson Valley. Higher tones that beckon food pairings, the tannins lend structure to a complete experience of old “Burgundian styled” California fruit. IMHO of course! Drinking well, but of course it will age. It’s what you like ?! Food pairing? Well, always recommend something in the Asian food spectrum. Enjoy….
